Please join us in our sanctuary for a special benefit concert for musician Andrew Green.
Andrew was the concertmaster for the 2017 Christmas Eve cantata at Oak Hill UMC. During the 9 p.m. service, Andrew had a stroke which has left him with minimal movement on his left side. This is certainly a devastating tragedy for this young man. Andrew made his living as a professional musician and teacher. At this time, it is quite possible that he will never play the violin again. Andrew has accrued astronomical medical expenses, and many in the Oak Hill community have requested information about assisting in this area. Funds collected at the concert will go to help pay his medical expenses.
Andrew received a graduate degree in violin performance from UT. His teacher, Professor Laurie Scott, and Oak Hill UMC Director of Music Suzanne Pence are planning a concert that will include many of his UT peers and colleagues, along with the Oak Hill UMC Chancel Choir. Andrew is helping with the repertoire selection, and we are excited to present this outstanding program of orchestral and choral works.
There will be more information to come regarding ways in which to make a contribution.
