“A Bush, a Pair of Shoes, and Some Holy Ground”

On September 1, Pastor Katy preaches on Exodus 3:1-11.

Shoes. They’re both fashionable and functional; varying in style, but consistent with the basics. Shoes are literally a protective barrier between our feet and the ground we walk on. In Exodus 3, the famous story about the burning bush through which God speaks to Moses, God tells Moses to remove his protective barrier because it was separating him from the holy ground he was standing on. What kinds of protective barriers do we wear that prevent us from experiencing the vulnerability of God’s presence?
