On October 1, Pastor Katy preaches on Hebrews 10:19-25.
As we continue in our series of “Five Practices of Fruitful Congregations,” this week we come to the practice of Intentional Faith Development. I’d love for there to be some set recipe, some prescription for exactly how one develops their faith, but each person’s faith journey is completely unique. We all have times that feel spiritually stagnant, unworthy, tired, or altogether dead, but the length and depth of those times differs for each of us. Part of intentional faith development is embracing each phase of our journey for what it is, but with the help of others, continuing to push ourselves to the next step. The author of Hebrews reminds us that because of Christ, “we can now – without hesitation – walk right up to God.” All journeys have twists and turns, good and bad, but as a community we journey together toward God.
