On February 26, Pastor Katy preaches on Exodus 24:12-18.
This week is Transfiguration Sunday, the Sunday before Lent begins. It’s the one day of the year when we linger on a story about Jesus taking some disciples up a mountain where the glory of God suddenly shines around and through Him. As you can imagine, the disciples fumble with trying to figure out how to be in the clear presence of God. Encountering the living God is something that we have all experienced, but we haven’t always put together that those weird, unexplainable yet pivotal moments are actually experiences of God’s profound presence. We take a look back into Exodus where Moses has his own form of weird, unexplainable yet pivotal moment of encountering God on a mountain, and we begin to learn about our own experiences as we step into the season of Lent.
