Where did you grow up and how did you make your way to Austin?
I was born in San Diego, California, and grew up in Denison, Texas, and Commerce, Texas. I took a car to Austin.

What is your former work experience?
I’ve worked in various marketing and communications positions in Dallas and Austin.

When did you start at Oak Hill UMC?
I began my position as director of communications in September 2017. I joined Oak Hill UMC in December 2009.

What are your primary duties?
I edit and distribute the weekly “Cornerstone” and “What’s the Good Word in Church?” congregational emails. I also update the church and preschool websites; design things like postcards, posters, and newspaper ads; publish online listings regarding special church events and activities; and drink way too much coffee (in my defense: the office Keurig is 7 feet from my desk).

What do you enjoy most about your job?
Lunch on Thursdays.

How does your position help minister to others?
I keep church members informed about what’s going on in their church, and I keep nonmembers aware of what they’re missing.

What is one thing that few people know about you?
I’ve met Jerry Mathers and Wally Dow (Beaver and Wally Cleaver).
