Home for Christmas | Sunday, Dec. 2 - Dec. 23

This Advent season we are thinking together about discovering the light of Christmas in a world of hardship and hope. Even during hard times, the light of Christmas shines brightly. Our Advent study, Home for Christmas, shares the real-life stories of formerly incarcerated men and women as they find work and opportunity through Homeboy Industries in Los Angeles, California. As we hear about their struggles, we recognize the Advent themes of hope, love, and peace in their lives.

Join Pastor Laura for this four-week study beginning Sunday, Dec. 2, from 12:30 - 2 p.m. Bring your own lunch bag! Books are $11. Sign up at the Connection Station or email Pastor Laura. Childcare available.

Bring a Teddy Bear to Church | Sunday, Dec. 2

Here’s how it will work: Between now and Dec. 2, purchase a teddy bear or other stuffed animal between 12-18 inches tall and bring it to church on “Teddy Bear Sunday.” We want the animals to be similar in size.

Sit with your furry friend during worship and leave the critter in the pew when you leave. Won’t it be fun to take a picture of all the stuffed animals sitting in our church?

Another option is for you to have the church order a bear for you online. The cost is $20 per bear. Order your bear by putting the money in an envelope and marking it “Teddy Bear.” Place it in the offering. Make sure you put your name on the envelope. You may also bring the money to the church office. The office will purchase one for you.

Want to help with the party itself? Learn more at the Connection Station or contact Vicki Matustik.
