... and the Sanctuary! The Worship Team would love your help decorating the Sanctuary and foyer for Christmas on Saturday, Nov. 30, at 10 a.m. Donuts and coffee will be provided to helpers. HO HO HOpe you'll be there! Contact Susan McBride with any questions.

Light of the World | Sundays, Dec. 1-22, 4-5 PM

“Light of the World” is the title of the Advent study led by Pastor Katy. The study is based on the book of the same name by Amy-Jill Levine, an internationally renowned scholar and teacher. Levine explores the biblical texts surrounding the story of the birth of Jesus and traces the Christmas narratives through the stories of Zechariah and Elizabeth, Mary, the journey to Bethlehem, and the visit from the Magi. The study will be held in Room 203 of the Adult Education Building. Contact Pastor Katy at with questions or to sign up.

Bring a Teddy Bear to Church | Sunday, Dec. 8

Here’s how it will work: Between now and Dec. 8, purchase a teddy bear or other stuffed animal between 12-18 inches tall and bring it to church on Dec. 8: “Teddy Bear Sunday.” We want the animals to be similar in size. (There also will be a collection bin in the narthex beginning Dec. 1.)

Sit with your furry friend during worship and leave the critter in the pew when you leave. Won’t it be fun to take a picture of all the stuffed animals sitting in our church?

Another option is for you to have the church order a bear for you online. The cost is $20 per bear. Order your bear by putting the money in an envelope and marking it “Teddy Bear.” Place it in the offering. Make sure you put your name on the envelope. You may also bring the money to the church office. The office will purchase one for you.

The stuffed animals will be given to children at the annual Brown Santa Christmas Party on Saturday, Dec. 14. Want to help with the party itself? Learn more at the Connection Station or contact Vicki Matustik.
