When life throws us a curve, do we head for the phone or the throne? We may receive sympathy from the one, but we will receive Jesus and His compassion from the other. We may receive human advice from the friend, but through Jesus’ love, we could see the larger picture.
Come to me…and I will give you rest. Matt. 11:28
No matter what is happening in our lives, resting in His Presence is what we truly need.
…Why are you so afraid? Jesus asked his disciples and He asks us. (Matt. 8:26) Look at the birds of the air?…Are you not much more valuable than they? (Matt. 6:26) He tells us in Joshua 1:5-6, I will never leave you or forsake you. Be strong and courageous…
As the wonderful hymn from the 1920’s says, Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face. And the things of this world will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace. (Helen H. Lemmel)
We have a loving Savior who wants to meet us right where we are and lift us up and place our feet on firm and high places (Ps. 40:2), where we can see our situation from His perspective. He loves us with an everlasting love…what more do we need to know?
