So do not fear, for I am with you. Isaiah 41:10
As a church going Christian, I had never really given divine intervention much thought. I had heard people speak of experiences but still wasn’t sure where I stood on the subject.
In the mid 1980’s I was given a whole new perspective on the subject first hand. On my way home from school I had my usual list of stops to make along the way. I accomplished the first few but “somehow” skipped the one where I was supposed to stop and get gas. It wasn’t until I came out of the grocery store that I realized the stop I had missed.
About that time I heard all kinds of sirens and commotion up and down Hwy. 290. Looking up in the sky I could see billows of black smoke rising in the air. A tanker truck was filling the gas tanks at the gas station and exploded. The driver was killed and the man working inside the store was severely burned.
Guess where I would have been at the very moment the explosion happened? I never for one moment gave any other explanation for missing that one stop. God knew he wasn’t finished with me and let me know in a huge way.
To this very day, I have been noticing the bigger ways God has been my protector but I am sure there have been many smaller ones I have missed. I do know for sure, He is with me always.
