Giving Bread To The Homeless
By: Carson Bragg, (Fifth Grade)
Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. – 1 Timothy 4:12 NIV
Have you ever seen people on the side of the street begging for food or money? We probably all have.
As you may know, there was a women’s retreat a few weeks ago, and Panera Bread gave the women some bread and baked goods. But after the retreat there was tons of leftover bread and no one wanted to just throw it away.
So, Amy Reynolds and Angie Bragg took it back to Austin, TX. The baked goods were then individually bagged. Then we set off to find some hungry people. When we found some, lots of them were asleep so we just left some bread near them and looked for more people. We also gave out some fruit which really made them smile.
This might be a small act of giving up Sunday at church to make the church mobile. Sometimes you might want to do this too. It doesn’t take a lot, just food and some kindhearted people to help about 25 to 30 people.
