We are in the midst of a dark valley, at least we think we are in the midst of it. Only God knows. We pray we’re at the midway point or beyond, but we don’t know.
Parts of our country are “opening up,” in various ways and to mixed reviews. Evidently in some areas, restaurants, bars, and haircare businesses will be open as usual. Hmmm.
A friend of mine who works at a large university says that January 2021 is the target goal for in person classes and dorms to open up.
It’s a dark valley, as David wrote, “the valley of the shadow of death.” We can’t see all the way to the bottom. We can’t even see the end of it.
And yet we know one thing. God is with us. God will meet us on every sunlit mountain top and in every crevice of the darkest valley. We have a God who empowers us to go through the valley of the shadow of death instead of around it.
We go through the virus and without fear, God’s gentle rod and staff tap us and guide us and remind us that we will make it.
That…is good news!
Hope that you’ll join us on Sunday at 10:00 AM for worship. We will share Holy Communion together.
Remember to support your church during these days. If you haven’t been pledging and giving, please do so. It’s so important.
