This year's pandemic has changed a lot of things and our Christmas Eve services are no exception. While we won't be able to worship together in a packed sanctuary aglow in candle light, we don't want to give up on a candlelit service altogether. For many of us this tradition goes back to our childhood and is part of what makes Christmas Eve worship so magical.
So this year, all of us will have to get creative! This year it’s up to us to bring the candlelight experience into our online worship.
Here’s how to bring the light:
Between now and December 21, we invite all Oak Hill United Methodist Church members to send in a 10-second video of yourself and/or your family holding burning candles. We'll incorporate your video into a virtual candlelight moment at the end of our live-streamed Christmas Eve service. Be creative and have fun with this!
We'd like to capture the light and excitement on the faces of as many members of our church family as possible. We hope we can count on you to help us do so!
Please keep your video to 10 seconds and hold your phone horizontally (landscape mode) when you shoot the video.
We'd really like a video but if you don't know how to do that, please send us a photo of you and/or your family holing a burning candle!
