Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives, do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. – John 14:27
Our third grandchild, second grandson was born on July 9, 2015 – his due date was Aug. 19th – that afternoon as I held this precious child for the first time I couldn’t get over how little this premature baby was and how he was hooked up to so many machines. I came to tears as I looked down and prayed over him for the first time. Praying for God to allow him an opportunity to survive and thrive – I also begged God to give me the opportunity to share with this little boy who the risen Christ is. At that moment in that NICU at North Austin Medical Center I encountered the living Christ and knew without any doubt that he was there with the both of us reassuring me to not let my heart be troubled and to not be afraid and reminding me that he is in charge.
Samuel Ender Roets is now an extremely active, healthy and social 18 month-old toddler. I babysat him and his brother recently while at their home in Fort Worth – when putting him to bed I again prayed over him asking the risen Christ to continue to walk with him and protect him always. As I prayed, little Sammy stared at me with his big wide blue eyes and spoke to me in some language that I didn’t understand. Christ continues to be in our midst reminding all of us to not be troubled or afraid.
