Helping the Homeless

Give us today our daily bread. – Matthew 6:11
We’ve all seen people on the side of the road asking for food. Just giving them a small piece of food helps. Have you ever helped the homeless?
To begin with, my mom, her friend, and a bunch of other women went to Blanco for a women’s retreat over the weekend. Panera Bread gave the group of women their leftover bread. There was lots of extra bread that almost went to waste.
Of course, nobody wanted to just trash it. So, on Sunday when the women went home, my mom and her friend brought home the extra bread. Me, my brother (Sam), my mom (Amy), Ms. Angie, and Carson put an assortment of breads in bags.
Next, we packed up the car and we were off to help. We stopped whenever we saw a homeless man or woman. We gave them a couple bags of bread and an orange. They felt so blessed and thankful. We actually ended up giving our laundry basket to a homeless man.
Therefore, helping these homeless people feels great. Whenever you want something you don’t need, think of someone who has nothing and is so grateful for a piece of bread.
