“Divine Discontent”

On May 13, Pastor Katy preaches on Matthew 15:21-28.

A mother’s love for her daughter can be a powerful force. When the Canaanite woman in Matthew 15 sees Jesus, she sees a man who can heal her daughter’s affliction, and suddenly none of the social barriers seem to matter. The drive within her to bring about healing is greater than her social stigma, and her faith that Jesus can heal is what makes her daughter well. We all encounter places in our lives and in the world that are in desperate need of healing, and every now and then God places upon our hearts a divine discontent with the way things are. This unsettled drive within us, like a mother’s love, can be a powerful force that leads to change, if we have faith.
