“Never Enough”

On February 17, Pastor Katy preaches on John 5:5-7.

5 One man was there who had been ill for thirty-eight years. 6 When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had been there a long time, he said to him, “Do you want to be made well?” 7 The sick man answered him, “Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; and while I am making my way, someone else steps down ahead of me.”

Two of the greatest fears for many of us are fears about change and fears surrounding financial matters. What will happen if life as we know it is suddenly changed? What will happen if the way we make a living is suddenly lost? The fear is real and hits very close to home. This Sunday we will meet a man who has lived a certain way for 38 years. It is a hard life but it is all he has ever known. When Jesus offers him an opportunity for a better life he has a hard decision to make and has to be willing to lose the old.
