“Unless”

It was a week after Easter, and the disciples of Jesus were awed, overjoyed, and blown away with the fact that they had seen their risen master. Almost giddy, they descended upon Thomas and told him what they had seen. Judas was gone, so that left 10 of them. Talk about peer pressure! “We have seen the Lord!” they all told him.

I might have gone along to get along. I might have said, “Wow, I look forward to seeing him for myself.” Thomas bowed his back and said, “Nope, I will not believe.”

He simply didn’t believe. What was he to do, tell a lie or the truth? He told the truth.

I like that. I’ve long said that I think God prefers honest doubt to phony faith. So, what do you doubt?
