small groups

women of valor

Women of Valor is a women’s group that alternates between book discussions and social evenings. We meet every other Thursday at 7:30 p.m., either in each other’s homes/porches or at a local restaurant. Please contact us at womenofvalor@oakhillumc.org and join our Facebook group: Women of Valor, formerly known as mom2mom.

While a book group on the surface, we mostly enjoy the conversations that flow from the books. Our Thursday nights are the park benches and breathing room we all need to simply be with God and each other. Women of Valor affirms that all people are beloved children of God, and welcomes women of every age, background, gender expression, sexual orientation, marital status, and family configuration.

Walk to emmaus

Walk to Emmaus is a special type of spiritual retreat. You will enjoy three days of singing, learning, laughing, worshiping, reflecting, praying and participating in small groups.

Discussions center around fifteen talks given by laity and clergy. These talks present the theme of God’s grace, how that grace comes alive in the Christian community and how it is expressed in the world. You’ll also discover how grace is real in your life, how you live a life of grace, and how you bring that grace to others.

Consider a Walk to Emmaus. It will have an everlasting impact on your life.
