On May 7, Pastor Jim preaches on John 10:1-10.
John’s Gospel contains the great “I Am” statements of Jesus: “I am: the bread of life; the light of the world; the good shepherd; the resurrection and the life; the way, the truth, and the life; the true vine.”
Sunday we will consider the time Jesus said, “I am the gate.” He mentions twice that he is the gate of salvation and abundant life. The sheep come in through an opened gate, and the gate closes for their protection. Then the shepherd opens the gate and leads the sheep out to water and pasture. They know his voice. It’s all good.
If Jesus is the gate, guess who isn’t?
