About the event

As Robert Earl Keen sang, "it's been a long hot summer without a drop of rain".  We're confident the heat & drought will not last much longer, so we're planning an overnight camping trip to Lake Bastrop North Shore Park, operated by LCRA for FRIDAY, OCTOBER 6.  We have secured reservations for 3 camp sites (061, 063, 065).  Each site can accommodate up to 8 people.  There are also opportunities to rent Airstream trailers (up to 5 are available) and each campsite (total of 8 available) have trailer/RV hookups if you wish to BYO.  If you are interested in attending, please RSVP with your information (name, number of folks, tent or RV/trailer, what time you plan to arrive, and what actvities you plan to do while you're there.  Note that if you are wanting to rent an Airstream trailer from the park, PLEASE secure your reservation for this thru LCRA as soon as you can (and let us know).

Please note that the LCRA has a refund policy with enough notification. Our preference is that we take over as many spots as possible and later have people back out should they need to. The organizers (Kuhns & Walt Earnest) will plan to occupy 2 of the sites, with flexibility to add more folks to each site as needed.  The third site that is reserved can function as overflow and cancelled if there aren't enough participants to justify.

At the park, there are hike/bike trails, restrooms/showers, boat ramp, fishing pier, canoe/kayak/paddleboard rentals, and a camp store for snacks/souvenirs.

Our intent is to center OHUMC purchase around food and to own reservations and site entrance fees as families. Please do not, however, hesitate to approach Jeff Kuhn or Walt Earnest via e-mail, in person, or by phone for financial asks. Financial situations are  not intended to be a boundary for OHUMC members to attend the campout.

LCRA policies may be a little different from State Parks.  Encouraged to read their policies/FAQ in link following.
