Oak Hill UMC
Church Leadership
At Oak Hill, we believe that ministry is a team effort. Our leadership teams and committees work together to help our church live out its mission — caring for one another, serving our community, and growing in faith. Each group has a unique role in supporting the life of the church, from guiding worship and discipleship to overseeing finances and facilities.

Below you’ll find a list of our current leadership teams and committees, along with contact information for the chair or team lead. If you’d like to learn more, get involved, or reach out with a question, we encourage you to connect with the appropriate leader. Your gifts and ideas are always welcome!
If you have general questions about serving on a team or committee, please contact Pastor Stephen, Pastor Missy, Pastor Ryan, or Richard Reeves (Church Council Chairperson) to discuss.
committees & teams
Church Council
The Church Council serves as the official leadership team at Oak Hill. It is where the big picture conversations about our ministry happen. It is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Oak Hill United Methodist Church, making sure that all decisions reflect the people who make up the Oak Hill UMC family.
Richard Reeves, Chairperson
Lay Leadership
Our Lay Leaders serve as trusted guides and representatives of the congregation. They work alongside the pastors to listen, pray, and help shape the direction of our church’s ministry. Their role is to lift up the voice of the laity — the everyday disciples — and encourage everyone to share their gifts in building up the body of Christ.
board of trustees
A church building is more than walls and a roof — it’s the space where ministry happens and people connect with God and one another. Our Board of Trustees makes sure those spaces are safe, welcoming, and cared for. From routine maintenance to new projects, they steward our buildings and grounds so that our church can continue to be a place of worship, learning, and fellowship.
Neal Newberry, Chairperson
Staff-Parish Relations Committee
People are at the center of ministry, and our Staff-Parish Relations Committee (often called SPRC) helps care for those who serve our church most directly. This team encourages healthy relationships between staff and congregation, supports our pastors and staff in their callings, and makes sure each person’s gifts are used well in ministry.
Laura Chalberg, Chairperson
Finance Committee
Money may not be the heart of the church, but it helps make ministry possible!
Our Finance Committee serves faithfully behind the scenes to make sure the resources God has entrusted to us are used wisely and responsibly. By planning and monitoring the budget, they help ensure that worship, outreach, and ministries of all kinds have the support they need to thrive.
Greg Salley, Chairperson
community ministries team
Serving others is at the heart of who we are as a church. Our Community & Caring Ministries include a variety of groups that reach out with compassion — both within Oak Hill and in the wider community. These teams provide opportunities to put faith into action and to make a real difference in people’s lives.
Jon Nelson, Chairperson
worship team
Worship is the heartbeat of our church, and our Worship Team helps create meaningful experiences that draw us closer to God. From preparing the sanctuary to planning special services, they make sure that every detail — from candles to communion — helps our congregation enter into the presence of God together.
Susan McBride, Chairperson
Preschool ministry and
Children & family Ministry teams
The laughter and energy of children remind us of the joy of faith! These teams support our preschool and children’s ministry leaders in creating safe, nurturing, and faith-filled environments for kids and families. From curriculum planning to family events, they help make sure our youngest members are growing in God’s love.

communications team
Good news is worth sharing! Our Communications Team helps make sure the story of what God is doing at Oak Hill reaches our congregation and community. From newsletters and announcements to our website and social media, they help keep everyone connected and informed.
Holly Chang, Chairperson
spiritual formation team
Faith is a journey, and we never stop growing. The Spiritual Formation Team provides opportunities for people of all ages to deepen their relationship with God through Bible study, small groups, and spiritual practices. They help us discover our gifts, learn together, and support one another along the way.
Corinne Weisgerber, Chairperson
annual conference delegates
Being part of the wider United Methodist connection means we don’t do ministry alone. Our Annual Conference Lay Delegates represent Oak Hill at gatherings with other churches in our district and conference. They bring our voice to the table in important conversations about ministry, budgets, and the future of the church — and they also bring back fresh insights to share with us.
