United women in faith
All women of all ages are welcome to join one or more of the United Women in Faith's groups. Please check out the video to learn more about each group and feel free to reach out to the contacts listed below to find out more.
The United Women in Faith shall be a community of women whose purpose is:
To know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ
To develop a creative supportive fellowship
To expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church
Every year, the UWF hosts a retreat that is open to all women at a nearby retreat center, usually in February. The retreat features worship, Bible study, time for laughter, and quiet reflection. It begins with dinner on Friday evening and ends after Sunday morning worship. The registration fee includes comfortable lodging, five delicious meals, and fun and refreshing activities. The retreat is a great opportunity to relax, make new friends, worship, and draw closer to God.
United Women in Faith Book Club
The UWF Book Club meets on the last Thursday of every month, 10 am, in the Parlor, in person and on Zoom. Our members select UWF books and other interesting books. There is no meeting in July, and the November and December meetings are combined.
Chloe Circle meets every second Thursday at 6:30 pm in Fellowship Hall Coffee Bar. The members host speakers and activities in rotation. The group is committed to missions, including assembling manna bags and providing lunch for Habitat for Humanity.
Dorcas Quilters meet on the third Monday of every month from 10 am to 2 pm in Room A203. We focus on making quilts for cancer patients in our church and for girls at Nicole's Place. We also work on special projects such as pillowcases for the Salvation Army. Bring your favorite sewing tools and a bag lunch.
HUGS Project of Austin
HUGS Project of Austin meets every Thursday from January through November from 10 am to 2 pm in A203. We make neck coolers and Christmas stockings for USA troops. Bring your favorite sewing tools and a bag lunch.
