Guided Labyrinth Walks in Austin: Slow Down With Us This November
This November, Oak Hill United Methodist Church in Southwest Austin invites you to a guided labyrinth walk every Monday evening at 6 PM. A labyrinth is a single winding path that leads to a center and back out again. It isn't a maze, so there are no wrong turns and nothing to figure out. You just walk, breathe, and let your mind settle.
The series wraps up with a special candlelit walk on Sunday, December 6. Note that this one is on a Sunday, not a Monday.
Why walk a labyrinth?
Most of us spend our days rushing from one thing to the next. Walking a labyrinth is a simple way to slow down, a kind of walking meditation. You don't have to sit still, empty your mind, or know the right words.
People come for all sorts of reasons. Some come to pray. Others come to think something through, to sit with a loss, or just to breathe at the end of a long day. Whatever brings you, you're welcome.
What to expect
We'll meet at our outdoor stone labyrinth. A guide will offer a short welcome and something simple to carry with you as you walk: a question, a single word, or just your breath. Then you'll walk at your own pace. There's no right speed and no right way to do it.
Afterward, there's time to reflect together. Sharing is always optional. If you'd like a preview, read how to walk a labyrinth.

Common questions
Do I have to be religious to come? No. Oak Hill is a United Methodist church, and our walks draw on the Christian tradition. But you're welcome whatever you believe, or if you're still figuring that out.
I've never walked a labyrinth. Is that OK? Absolutely. The guide will walk you through it, and the path itself does the rest.
Do I need to sign up? No registration is needed. Just come.
What should I bring? Comfortable shoes and a maybe a jacket. The walks are outdoors, and November evenings can be cool.
