Oak Hill is turning 45:Join Us for a Week of Renewal!

This May, Oak Hill United Methodist Church is turning 45! To celebrate this milestone, we invite you on a transformative journey – A Week of Spiritual Renewal – a series of uplifting events designed to nourish your spirit and promote spiritual growth.

 

From May 5th-11th, we will explore different facets of spirituality through workshops, meditation, prayer, and enriching activities. This spiritual renewal experience aims to deepen our faith as a community as we embark on OHUMC's next 45 years.

 

Each day will provide a unique opportunity to awaken your spirit:

Sunday, May 5: Anniversary Celebration

Because what better way to kick it all off than with a big birthday celebration? Join us for a potluck after the 11 am church service to celebrate our church's 45 years of service in the Oak Hill community.

Monday, May 6: Journaling

Unlock the power of introspection with a Journaling Workshop. Learn techniques to capture your thoughts, express gratitude, and gain clarity on your spiritual path. Time: 6 - 7 pm

 Tuesday, May 7: Lectio Divina

Uncover the ancient practice of Lectio Divina. Learn a meditative approach to scripture reading that fosters a deeper understanding and a personal connection with God. Time: 10 - 11 am

Wednesday, May 8: Taizé

Find serenity and a profound sense of community through the peaceful chants and music of Taizé. This meditative practice allows you to immerse yourself in a beautiful and uplifting experience. Never heard of Taizé? Here's a short explanation and here's a video of a Taizé service. Time: 6 -7 pm

Thursday, May 9: Centering Prayer

Discover the practice of Centering Prayer, a silent form of meditation that cultivates inner stillness and connection with the divine. Time: 10 - 11 am

Friday, May 10: Labyrinth

Walk our Labyrinth. This symbolic journey fosters introspection and spiritual renewal, a symbolic journey inward, offering space for reflection and renewal. Time: 6:45 - 7:45 pm

Where: Labyrinth next to Children’s Bldg.

Saturday, May 11: Prayer Walk

Conclude the week by embarking on a Prayer Walk and reconnecting with nature. Engage in mindful reflection and spiritual exploration as you immerse yourself in the beauty of the outdoors. Time: 9 am
